Here's one of the better videos of a car rolling up hill on Gravity Hill, Sylmar, CA, in the San Fernando Valley.
I saw a TV show yesterday, one of "those weird things" type TV shows. I've lived in The Valley, (aka San Fernando Valley) for the last year and a half, but I'd never heard of Gravity Hill. There are several videos of it on YouTube, at least one of which where nothing happens. But this seemed the best overall video.
The local urban legend (not backed up by fact, as far as I can tell), is that a school bus full of kids crashed there "many years ago." The ghosts of the dead kids buried nearby will push your car up the hill if you put your car in neutral in the right place. If your car is dirty, or you dust the back of it with baby powder or something similar, you'll see hand prints on the back of you car when you reach the end of the hill. That's the legend. You can go try it, if you like. Late at night would definitely make it more spooky, of course, just keep your lights on, so other cars can see you.
Gravity Hill in Sylmar does come up on Google Maps. The general area is near the top of the S.F. Valley, where the 405 and the 5 freeways come together, and near the 210, by the start of The Grapevine. The actual location is Kagel Canyon Road, right by the Glen Haven & Shalom Memorial Park (cemetery) in Sylmar, California.
These gravity anomalies are found in every state, apparently, and you can ask a physicist why it happens, that's above my pay grade. The Wikipedia article says these are optical illusions, but that doesn't explain why a level bubble shows a hill. It's a mystery, if you're game to go check it out.
